So I have now actually started work trying to make a plugin for the Athena OV such that when it splashes down it deploys airbags. This is a relatively simple idea, and it seems fairly easy to implement. Currently all I have to do is fight visual studio express into cooperating, and I think we'll have our fancy unsinkable vessel.

So, I haven't actually done anything yet, besides answer some coding questions for other members. I have a large amount of experience coding in C++, and will be trying to learn as I go with C# for KSP. I will finish high school for the summer as of June 20th and from that point onwards will be available.
